The much-awaited show House of Guinness has received the green light for release on Netflix. This new historical drama offers a glimpse into the famed family behind Ireland’s beloved Guinness beer. Once the subject of much discussion last year, the series is now ready to premiere and is scheduled for release in September.
The series was first announced last year, with several big names attached. Netflix has now officially confirmed that House of Guinness will launch on September 25. The cast features James Norton, Dervla Kirwan, Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, Ann Skelly, Seamus O’Hara, Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Michael Colgan, Jessica Reynolds, Hilda Fay, and Elizabeth Daulau.
Speaking to Netflix Tudum, the creators described the series as:
“It’s the extraordinary story of a family who happened to inherit the biggest brewery in the world. Steven Knight’s show will explore the rebellion, power, and scandal surrounding the Guinness brewery in 19th-century Dublin.”
The series is created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight, who is also penning the next James Bond movie. Directors Tom Shankland (The Leopard) and Mounia Akl (Costa Brava, Lebanon, 2021) serve as co-executive producers, alongside Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, and Ivana Lowell.

House of Guinness focuses on the Guinness family dynasty and those connected to their brewery empire. The story centers on Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O’Shea)—the children of Sir Benjamin Guinness—as well as the workers and associates of the factory. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the drama begins in the aftermath of Sir Benjamin’s death, the man credited with transforming Guinness into a global success.
